Prescription failure is one of healthcare’s largest hidden inefficiencies. Each year, 1.3B prescriptions never reach patients, driving $500B in avoidable costs, 38M ER visits, 950k readmissions, and 150K deaths. Optio fixes this. Founded by Preet Virdi, former Amazon Regional Director who led amazon Robotics and AMXL, Optio is building the Medication Execution Platform, a system that connects pharmacy operations, patient engagement, and prescription logistics into a single workflow. The platform manages pharmacy side execution, copays, patient access, delivery logistics, and adherence monitoring so prescriptions actually reach patients and are taken correctly - reliably and at scale. While Optio started by helping regional and local pharmacies with delivery and adherence, the larger opportunity lies in hospitals and health systems looking to bring pharmaceuticals in house in order to reduce $billions in readmission costs and capture billions in 340B and Specialty Drugs revenue. Optio is the infrastructure partner making this shift possible.
