About

SHFT is Chicago’s first mental health urgent care — created to bridge the gap between emergency departments and traditional outpatient mental health care for children, adolescents, and adults. We offer a full continuum of services, including urgent assessments, single-session chats, therapy, and medication management — all designed to provide fast, compassionate, clinically excellent care when it’s needed most. Our multidisciplinary team brings experience across inpatient, outpatient, academic, and crisis settings, allowing us to respond to a wide range of mental health needs with depth, flexibility, and humanity. Open seven days a week, SHFT welcomes both walk-ins and scheduled appointments. Guided by a “come as you are” philosophy, our space was intentionally designed to feel warm, modern, and approachable — more like a thoughtfully curated wellness space than a traditional clinic. At SHFT, we believe mental health care should be immediate, accessible, and deeply human. We partner closely with schools, healthcare systems, hospitals, pediatricians, and community organizations across Chicago to create clear pathways to care and support individuals and families before challenges escalate into crisis.
